Volunteer Opportunities
Lesson Volunteers
Fundraising & Events
If you love connecting with people, planning events, or finding creative ways to make a difference, this volunteer role is for you.
Our Fundraising & Events Volunteers help organize and support special events, community fundraisers, and outreach activities that sustain and grow the mission of Bits & Pieces.
From planning and executing fundraisers and open houses to coordinating donation drives and community partnerships, these volunteers bring energy, creativity, and heart to everything they do.
Whether you’re experienced in event planning or simply enthusiastic about helping, you’ll play a key role in building awareness, raising funds, and spreading the message of hope and healing that defines our work.
Our Lesson Volunteers are the heart of what we do—our programs wouldn’t be possible without them!
In this role, you may help lead a horse or serve as a side-walker during therapeutic riding lessons, providing encouragement and support to riders of all abilities.
All volunteers receive training on how to safely lead horses and offer appropriate assistance as a side-walker based on each rider’s individual needs.
You’ll also have the chance to help groom and tack horses before lessons, gaining valuable hands-on experience in horse care. This is a fun, active, and deeply rewarding opportunity to make a difference while being part of a caring, horse-centered community.
Barn Volunteers
Our Barn Volunteers are essential to keeping the heart of Bits & Pieces running smoothly.
While lessons are underway, these volunteers ensure our horses and facilities are well cared for and organized. These volunteers groom horses before/after lessons and help with tacking/untacking. Other tasks may include refreshing water buckets, sweeping aisles, cleaning tack and equipment, and helping with general barn or garden upkeep.
This behind-the-scenes role is perfect for those who enjoy hands-on work and being around horses in a purposeful environment.
